Question: What comes to mind when I say “Living and working with Ease”?
Do you imagine lying on the couch, eating popcorn, watching the Great British Baking Show, and magically manifesting your dreams?
A lot of people think this is what “Ease” looks like.
So, they try “Ease” for a little while, often feeling guilty for the indulgence of it all. Then, they notice that they’re not accomplishing much, other than another completed season of Bake Show.
Ease feels like presence, connection to your Inner Being, and flow. It feels like, well, ease.
I once heard Deepak Chopra share that he wrote an entire book on a transatlantic flight and that it was effortless because he had so much that he wanted to say. Writing an entire book on an airplane seems mind-blowing to me but, at the same time, I see how that’s possible with Ease.
Okay, you might be thinking… Of course Deepak Chopra could write an entire book on an airplane! He was probably levitating the whole time too! I get it. But, don’t dismiss that YOU have access to the same Source of inspiration that he does and you can do extraordinary things with Ease too.
There’s a flip side that I want to mention.
Ever been in a warm, cozy bed and felt stress about work or money? Or, been on the couch watching your favorite show and feeling guilty for not working? It might look like Ease, but it’s not.
Good question.
This connection influences your mindset. Your mindset can also influence how strongly you’re feeling this connection. Then, your thinking mind becomes like an assistant to your Inner Being by receiving creative and helpful ideas.
This mindset feels empowering. Your actions feel inspired. It starts to feel like a dance between you and the Universe.
AND, there’s no background fear lingering. No guilt or unworthiness. No hunger or determination to manifest something.
Now, I’m not saying that you will never be inspired to the couch. I’m inspired to the couch! I’m sure you will be too! Sometimes the couch is the fastest route to feeling ease and oneness. But, if you’re reaching for Ease on the couch while actually feeling guilty, unworthy, afraid, or doubting yourself, then it’s not Ease.
Point yourself in the direction of Ease by reaching for thoughts and practices that create the feeling of empowerment (learn more in this blog post).
